For the past six years I've used Pinnacle Studio. It has a really simple interface, but also many powerful features for editing when you feel like doing advanced video effects. It also features a library of plugins that you can buy to do all sorts of neat overlays, animations, etc. I actually use Pinnacle in tandem with Flash for creating and editing music videos.
