'artist - title' is the typical title format. if you're setting to something else then that most likely explains why it is not working as expected (and is why the v2 tools were changed back to the 'artist - title' format from 'artist - title - album' as was attempted early on since it caused such issues in a number of clients).
if people made use of the v2 protocol then it wouldn't matter what you set as long as the client is able to receive the more comprehensive metadata the v2 protocol allows to be transmitted.
