You're not guna find a game like that anymore with how everything is online multiplayer. I'd check out Dungeon Siege and Dragon Age, I heard they got online multiplayer modes. Not as an 'jump in arcade' feel like gauntlet did so well but its something. If you like that coop feel without the hacknslash, check out boarderlands2
I really miss the times when multiplayer was comfortable on one screen
