Holy giant post webthing. Some really good reading in there though. Thank you very much for posting; I may use these stories while doing things for work.

I'm 34 and so far still pretty good. Couple scars both literally and figuratively, but the list of good is still bigger than the list of bad.

My dad is a month shy of 77. I'm pretty strong and I'll bet he'd still be able to beat me at arm wrestling. Spending 5-10 hours a day, around 6 days a week doing heavy lifting and manual labor doesn't seem to get the better of him. For some reason he works quite a lot harder and is busier in his "retirement" than he ever did during his career. Either he's that bulletproof or he's that good at hiding the aches and pains, or maybe a little of both. He takes baths instead of showers and walks his dog every dawn and dusk. That probably helps. He's an empty nester, so that means kiddies like me aren't giving him any more stress. My mother gets nervous though. Some of the shit he does probably should be reserved for people under 60, or for a group of guys and not just him, but that's a battle that many family members including myself continually lose.

If, when I get to his age, I can accomplish what he does before 8 a.m. before my 8 p.m., I'll be impressed. Don't let the number fool you. The human body and mind can be pretty damn powerful, regardless of age.

Don't forget to live before you die.
