RoH, for what it's worth, weird things can happen if your actual profile folder used to be on C: and you move it to a different drive via a junction point or symlink. I did eventually get it to work on my own machine, but I'm a sysadmin. I wouldn't suggest an end user try it.
I would only move the individual library folders. Or, if it's Vista/7, just make something like D:\Music and add that directory to the music library.
Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.
