"Occasional Labour" I've done before, cash is always nice. But I find you can do it for only so long. Hell I've gone back to developing basic websites and revamping shitty sites. Not something I wanted to do again but it's working alright thus far. Thankfully I know a lot of small business owners who think that a site from the 90's is still *okay*. And I'm getting "occasional labour" from a lot of other tradesmen I've met since I moved here. But it's not enough, I of course want more.
In all honesty I'm not trying to make a living or get by, I'm trying to get a head. I plan to get my self enslaved by a mortgage before I'm thirty. It's just not something that I feel can be done on "occasional labour" I don't think I'm being too picky in that sense. Maybe there is another way to obtain that goal and I just can't see it.
I would start a painting business, but interiors suck and even so it's high stress. I'm not sure if you're aware but most people who own and run a successful painting business are actually bat shit crazy. Most painters are, i've never met characters as "unique" as painters in any other trade. So my sanity is also something I'm more or less thinking about.
