Maybe my goals have been set too high. But I don't think paying off a house with un-taxed cash would be the best option in any case. But currently from what I've seen in mortgage rates in the area I more or less want to settle down in. 70K is just enough to pay for a house. But I wouldn't pay it off, I'd mostly just be making the minimum.

I'm not saying that I want to make 100+K a year instantly, that's unrealistic and I just don't have the credentials or know the right people to make that kind of money.

But before I can even think about making any sort of payments I have yet to get any sort of savings for a deposit of any sort. Again, something I really don't want to skimp out on. I'd rather surpass the minimum amount that I can put into a deposit. From what I understand it's very much worth it.

So we fall back onto, why has I no job? Well now I *sort of* do, I have a career (not a job) lined up for the spring, for now I'm looking for something to last this winter. On a whim I applied to a labour placement agency, they are apparently putting me in a train yard for a very small amount but it's roughly close to what I made as a painter. They will hand me day jobs for extra cash as well so I feel that I'll stay busy this winter and hope to get back to 80+ hours every two weeks. Horray mike! It's still frustating as fuck that I was dicked around like this though.
