the v1.x DNAS has more issues with intro files than the v2.x DNAS does, it's just the luck of the draw as to how well (depending on the encoding of the intro file and where it's inserted in relation to the current audio frames) that the player can cope with it - some do better than others (as you're seeing).
but it still doesn't help the fact that the intro file behaviour just dumps the raw file into the stream without ensuring it's sync'd correctly and all of that 'fun' - that can be why it seems to work some times and then at other times it doesn't.
