TBH, I'm surprised AOL has kept Winamp alive this long. It seems like the days of traditional media players are over. With everything moving to cloud music/streaming services and mobile, there just isn't much of a market for a desktop media player, like Winamp. It's had a nice run, but I guess all things must end eventually.
And, in a bit of a coincidence, I found out about the death of Winamp through Engadget, another AOL property.
