    Go to www.wincustomize.com

    I found some nice Winamp2 skins there.

    The BDE skins are especially rocking my world.

      I seem to have the same problem with the skins.... and so do generally all my friends, we all prefer Winamp 2 its got better vis, but its really annoying with all the cool skins... I hope someone can get to the bottom of this soon... I'm getting really sick of the base skin!

        Have you tried right clicking, choosing save as, and selecting the winamp\skins directory??

          I had loads of probs with installing skins, simillar to the ones here but then realised I was downloading for version 3.0 and not version 2.0.. As far as I know if in the top right corner there's an add for winamp 3 then your browsing winamp 2.0 skins and vice versa. Once I got the correct version I had no problem

              I have just read through these posts and I have also been having problems getting skins to work, the only thing is when I download a new skin it shows up as a music type file and I can rename it but not change the file type from .sz to .wsz

              Is there anyway of undoing file type assioation?

                  I have WinME and Winamp2.8 and I had the same problem as several other people here, ie. the .wsz files were displayed in the skins directory but when selected you'd get the base skin. I tried everything else that was said here, but in the end what I found to work was:

                  * Right click on the .wsz file and choose "Properties".

                  * If where it says "Opens with:" you have "Unknown application" press "Change" and in the window that opens find Winamp, select it and press "OK".

                  * The .wsz files will change their icons and you will now be able to use them as skins.

                  Note that if you renamed .wal files to .wsz they'd still not work.

                    Well, of course.
                    .wal = Winamp3 Skins
                    .wsz = Winamp2 Skins

                    Winamp3 skins will not work on Winamp2.

                        I've got Winamp3. Will Winamp 3 run Winamp2 skins if I rename the downloaded .wal to .wsz and open it with winamp?

                          Winamp3 skins- only for use on Winamp3 and not Winamp2
                          Winamp2 skins- work on Winamp2 and worked minimally with Winamp3

                            Hey, I've not visited this thread for a while . . . but I've gotta say . . . it's a right rivetting read, hehe, lol

                            Is there anyone out there still having problems?

                            Remember:

                            Winamp 2x skins (*.wsz)

                            Winamp3 skins (*.wal)

                            Winamp3 skins (*.wal) do NOT work on Winamp 2x
                            so don't even bother trying to rename them to *.wsz

                            I'm still pretty certain that my first post on page 1 covers every single aspect of all skin problems, except for dermatosis and acne

                              Okay DJEGG, I did download a bunch of winamp3 skins (like MDD3) as .wal, but Winamp3 didn't recognize them, even though they were .wal!
