1.) I think the best way would be to run the DNAS on a linux server if possible. Linux OS was designed (I believe) with networking as priority. Run the DNAS (and Transcoder if you get it) on Linux.

2.) If you can, drop the old legacy DNAS and run the new v2. The Transcoder can run different playlists at different times and is much better at handling DJs than direct connections to the DNAS. If you're dead set against using the beta v2 DNAS you can still use the Transcoder in legacy mode. The only caveat is the music also has to be on the same computer as the Transcoder.
