Shoutcast—The audio casting platform for dummies, then good luck to ya!
mind keeping your personal opinion to yourself please.
There are still loads and loads of people who happily stream using shoutcast so there is no need to call it names.....
if you want to vent your opinion next time make sure to make it clear that whatever you write is a personal opinion.
Yep everybody allowed that , but calling shoutcast something for dummies is rude and if he had posted a line like " i think that "in that case he got away with it.
In this case this person forgets that Shoutcast has been here for years allowing everybody a means to stream audio.
And his attitude towards those that gave us this software for free isn't very nice at all.

That sounds as if you believe it is OK to be rude as long as it is clear that a comment is an opinion. Some people call that "free speech".

nope , you can be rude in this forum part
The Bitchlist (17 Viewing)
Need a place to rant, vent, spew? Something happening within the Winamp universe you don't like? This is your place to bitch at the injustice and general unfairness of the World.
In other parts of this forum you act normal and if you want to give your opinion you simple say that "i think or i believe or it's my opinion that"
the way it was posted is rude towards those who developed the software that gave some many the means to stream on the internet.

That is merely your opinion, with no foundation in the Forum rules.
"rant, vent, spew" does not mean users are allowed to post anything they want, even if they claim it is only an opinion.
It sounds as if you believe that it is OK to make some rude comment like "my opinion is that <username> is a low-life idiotic moron" if it is posted in the Bitchlist!
Also, the Forum rules make no distinction between sub-forums.
Unacceptable posts should not become acceptable merely because of a change in location.
If it's OK to post "Shoutcast—The audio casting platform for dummies" in the Bitchlist, as you seem to say, it should be OK to post it anywhere.
let agree on the fact that we disagree on this subject and end the discussion here.
This can be a legitimate way to end a discussion.
But it is only sensible after each person has attempted to defend their position.
You have not justified your apparent belief that it is OK for members to make objectionable comments in the Bitchlist sub-forum, even though the Forum rules make no such provision.
It appears that you do not want to defend your position. So be it.
Thanks to the shenanigans of DNAS 2.6, I too have now migrated over to a ‘cooler’ alternative.
I am, and would like to continue using Winamp as my stream(s) source. But, my Win 2008 R2 server does not have a sound card, which means I cannot simply move over to Edcast DSP since it doesn’t seem to work with the N.O.P. plugin.
I have tried a few other Icecast DSPs and Windows Virtual Audio Drivers to workaround the problem, with little success.
Currently, I am using the Shoutcast DSP which works with N.O.P. and the backward-compatible server. However, this config comes with restrictions.
Does anyone know of a better way to overcome this minor issue?
Try virtual audio cables and Sound Empire Caster ..which supports DSPs. I'm using it on my radio and you wouldn't believe the audio quality I've got.
