the simplest option is letting the DNAS do it for you than trying to get the files to be seen in say an apache server, etc. i cannot remember if the v1 DNAS allowed / provided means to self-host a crossdomain.xml but v2.2 will happily do it as well as auto-generating an appropriate file if one is not manually specified i.e. it'll use the configured ports in the v2.2's config file to generate things.
