Compressed Audio? Bah.

Hard disks are getting ever larger and ever cheaper so the need to keep a PC based music collection small is no longer as important is it once was.
Why not have a plugin for Winamp that'll play Audio CD ISO images? It'll please the audiophiles who hate MP3s.

Winamp would be able to query internet based CD databases for all track names as well.

A four way shuffle could randomly select tracks across all CDs or play CDs sequentially but randomise within a CD and so on.

Obviously if you plan on sharing tracks between the PC and a portable MP3 player then it becomes a bit of waste of time. Unless Winamp caould do the PC/MP3 player synching and do some on the fly encoding. Might be a bit slow though.

What does everybody think?
