Nobody who is even half serious would even consider Teflon. A good stainless steel pan with some weight to it (so it won't hot spot) is just as slick as Teflon and you won't end up eating it. Just use some cooking spray and don't burn it.

Teflon will stand true for about 6 to 12 months
That's if you paid really good money. The cheap stuff isn't even that good. If you accidentally overheat Teflon, it's done.
