if only Winamp's video support had been sorted out to pass things to in_dshow if the 'dedicated' decoders weren't able to work out what the file was (which is only done in a few sub-set situations from what I remember).
as that'd resolve a fair number of the video playback issue *shrugs* as at least that way there's more of a chance that external filters could be attempted to be used or even to deal with issues with the native Winamp plug-ins.
