$400 (over the table) would be low for most communities, it's getting really expensive for tree service because of the insurance and equipment costs. A single boom lift truck towing a chipper could cost you up to 6 figures.

"cash"... That does help when bartering and pleading.

I suppose it's all in who you know and what they're willing to do.

I really like the idea of the onsite swap though - it would make a great photodocumentary too.
