M4A files sound worse than MP3 in Winamp
I've been having a problem with M4A files sounding pretty awful in Winamp vs. their MP3 counterparts. At first I thought it was an encoding problem, but then I found out that the M4A files only sounded inferior when I played them through Winamp. What I did was to take a lossless file and encode both to MP3 and M4A, then play them in various media players. Each time, Winamp was the only one in which I noticed a marked difference, with the M4A file sounding very muffled.
Has anyone else had this problem?
