I feel your pain.

Plus, I'd also like an ego boost every now and then =]

It grates with me that AVS has such a massive following, and milkdrop doesn't. I've never seen what was so good about AVS, really. A vast majority of the presets are very boring, and almost all of them can be duplicated in milkdrop (with the exception of multiple wave forms and custom colour blending). Plus, the whole thing runs so SLOW. Having a vis window taking up a quarter of the screen or less seems like a waste of time to me.

On the Milkdrop side, we get fast load time, blending between presets, a couple features AVS doesn't have (borders comes quickly to mind), and above all, SPEED. That factor alone should make AVS a non-contender.

Oh well.
