According to nVidia and the reviews I've read, the 6800 does, in fact, draw signficantly more power than the X800. More power == more heat. Assuming you have to power connecters, a good power supply, don't mind losing your PCI slot, and have got plenty of cooling, you'll be fine with nVidia!
