I think that both of you don't see what problems would you get if you wanted to access your Winamp via 3G, since you would try to access Winamp from the internet and not from your local network like ove wifi. If you wanted to access Winamp through 3G:
  1. your router would need a real and staic IP address,
  2. your router and firewall would need to forward ports from Winamp, so that it can be accessed from the internet
Also 3G is very slow and expensive if you want to use it for synchronizing music with you PC, and when you do sync, you are at home where you have wifi, so 3G is not needed.
