"Add Folder" button in playlist loads files twice

Everytime I use "add folder" at the bottom of the playlist, and choose my root mp3 folder (c:\music), most (though not all) files are loaded twice in the playlist. I suspect this has something to do with the recursive add function --I'm almost certain the files that are added correctly (i.e., only once) are the ones in the root folder (c:\music). Any ideas? I'd rather not have to go through and add each folder through "add files". Also, I found a temp work-around for the prob, if i update my media library by adding my root music folder, save the files there as a playlist and then load the playlist. For some reason media library gets it right, loading files only once.

Are there any playlist files in the folder or any subfolders, winamp will add the contents of thoes too.
Also, can happen if you have two MP3 decoders installed (like Mp3pro).
