contrary to popular belief, wavs do support a tag, but its a very limited tag and most everything doesn't even read it. in addition, hacking id3 type tags into wav is indeed a hack, and winamp won't support that either.
use ALAC. u can compress the audio in a lossless manner, tag it properly, and winamp/apple will use it.
