External Hard Drive Problem....

Hi people,

I got an external hard drive and currently moved my mp3 collection there. For some reason WinAmp's library (version 5.0rc8) can 'see' my files but...
(1) when I right click to view file info (or Alt+3) I
get to see nothing but empty file info (!!!)
(2) I can't even play the files from my library. If
however I try to play them directly from my external
HD they are actually being played.

Some other bloke mentioned something about this problem before (with version 3.XX I think), but no one came up with a solution.
I am currently using MediaMonkey which doesn't seem to have any problems with external HDs. I want my WinAmp back!!! Please suggets something guys. I don't wanna end up using this MediaMonkey player forever.

P.S.s:
- Don't suggest reinstalling WinAmp. Already done that.
- HD's connected via USB 2 cable (if u need 2 know).
- I share the folder with my mp3 files via p2p; can this
be the root of all evil?

Check the permissions on your drive
Get latest drivers?
Can you drag a file onto the playlist from explorer and it works?

Dude thanx for the reply but I've already done that (both permissions + drivers).

And yes it's very very strange but I can drag + drop my mp3 files on my WinAmp and everything seems to be alright. There's some sort of problem with the library though and I just can't figure out why.

You may want to try the latest version of Winamp to see if that makes a difference: 5.093
Only the latest version is supported.

I'm not sure about your problem though...
The hard drive is mounted with a drive letter, I assume?
Did you install any 3rd-party plugins?

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.

You could Also Try this Plugin...
http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=139125
It's A generic Drive Reader of Sorts for the Media library..
Should work for any USB drive...
