Clean install, no 3rd-party plugins, full step-by-step method of reproduction, relevant system specs, exact error messages, screenshots, which skin (one of Classic, Modern, or Bento only, or all three), links to sample files, etc.

Awesome release, nice work.

Two things (I use Winamp in windowshade mode btw):
- the start of the track title fades in, making the first letter hard to read.
- double clicking the title doesn't open File Info as it did before.

Modern, sorry.

Bento looks interesting, but the windowshade is too small (especially the seeker) for me.

Another one: when adding a smart view, the "filter" options in the bottom don't become visible until you click "Advanced >>", but they also don't disappear when clicking "<< Simple".

Also, the files from my "Tracks" folder (single songs I don't have the album of) all seem to have the same cover. There's probably a .jpg from Windows Media Player in there, but I can't see it (maybe because it's a network share). I guess there's no easy solution for that I guess.

OMG...... Yeah.... Nice work on this version here... It deserves the 5.5 number..

You did all my wishes with the Songtickers... I LOVE IT!! Nice...
But, some tips/ideas.....
I love the songticker(s), but it may need some optimizing/adjustment (for lag/kick)...
When looking at the songticker (both classic and modern -style), it lags a little bit... I would like to see it optimized to not lag so much...
When using the "modern style" only, it also lags more than before..
When using the "classic style" only, it will sometimes get a "lag/kick" in 1 second, which pushes the text to the right, and then keep scrolling again (this is not the same lag as in "modern" style).....
When I read the text, it is annoying that it will be pushed to the right (when using the "classic style")... If you could fix that "lag-kick", it would be great...

Therefore, I got an idea:
In prefs/skins/modern skin there is an option for "Timers Resolution", which adjusts the speed for "Spectrum Analyzer", and the "Songticker".
What if the songticker has it own "speed-bar"? I got that idea, because when I set the "Timers Resolution" to "as fast as possible for this machine", the songticker were scrolling incredible fast.... Its not needed, but an own speed-bar for the songticker would be great... If we get an own speed bar, we could set the "Timers Resolution" to high, so the spectrum analyzer goes fast, and then set the songticker speed to what we want...


EDIT: It would be nice if you could upgrade this skin with the new options and stuff also (album art-skinning), songticker options etc..)

is already known (and was part of the reason i've not been to sleep since 10am yesterday morning with trying to work out what has borked in the building of the dll) since i can't even get the 2.81d code to build out a valid version (since that was how we'd been building versions of avs). i've got to test out a few other things first but we will get a fully working avs again since it's my favourite vis plugin (and yes i'm waiting for the tirade of abuse for causing another failed build of the avs dll but then again if the code wasn't so tempremental then we wouldn't have this issue all of the time - all i can say is bring it on )

In 5.36 Beta2, the playlist item number were showing in the songticker for the modern skin.
In 5.5 Beta1, it is removed.
Thats okay, but it seems that I caused "my modded file" to not be almost correct anymore. The space to the right is not correct....

If you want, I can try to fix it and send you a new file, so you wont get so much work to do... ? If you dont want me to do that, its okay..

The new Bento skin is great and full of features!

Things I really liked about this beta...
1. The multi-purpose pane which shows info for the file & also visualisations, color themes, EQ etc.
2. The expanding & shrinking nature of the notifier.
3. Expandable & collapsible PL.
4. Finally 'Maximize' button in Winamp!

However I would like to point out a few things here...
1. The songticker scroll seems discontinuous in both Modern & Bento skins, unlike upto 5.36 beta 2. I wish its continuous till 5.5 final.
2. The reflections for the spectrum analyzer is hardly visible, may be it needs some more space at the bottom.
3. The Prefs -> Media library -> (last item) still shows blank display text...
4. When I move the mouse pointer over ML scrollbars, the scrollbar flickers. I don't know if this is specific for me since I'm using a skin for my WindowsXP.

I think I have noticed the same problem as Knotte. The first letter on the songticker appears faded in windowshade view (see attachment) EDIT: sorry, forgot the attachment

And now some positive feedback:
-Problem with ML not reading some bitrates fixed
-Album Art views in ML now show album rating correctly
-Album Art windows in Modern skin works like a charm

BTW, I'm using ml_iPod and have some problems while transcoding. I want to transcode files above certain bitrate, but I get all of them transcoded. I know it's a 3rd party plugin, but I talked to the developer and he said it was Winamp badly reporting bitrates (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread...263#post2230263)
It just happens when transcoding from Media Library, transcoding from Playlist works well. I just did a clean install with 5.35 and got the same problem, so it's not a beta specific problem.
Just wanted to know if it's a Winamp bug or a ml_iPod bug. Excuse me if this is not the right thread.

Huh? First letter ->faded? Im did not say that... I was saying that the songticker had some lag/kick problems, which I think can be fixed.. Because I love the new options, it just need some adjustments for lag, etc...

The other thing i mention`ed was space on the right side (we were discussing this in 5.36 Beta2, and I made an example file)... But that file was made WHEN the playlist item number was shown in the songticker..
In WA 5.5 it is removed, so my adjustments is not quite correct...
But, I can try to fix that... But I havent got a reply from the DEVs yet, if they want me to do it, so Im waiting a little bit...


As I have told you before, WA 5.5 is hot - The new features are hot - I just told you some ideas to fix the lag/kick (a weird thing)...

EDIT: I see that the songticker lag issues is posted under "known issues", so I will not nag so much more about it... Hope to see it fixed for the (possible) next beta.. Also the "space on the right side" thing..

Whenever I try to remove a track from my iPod (5.5 Video) Winamp crashes.

Winamp client version: 5.5 build 1550 Beta
winamp caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
in module pmp_ipod.dll at 001b:01ec530c.

Exception handler called in Winamp.

Any help / idea?

I'm running XP SP2

1. What do you mean exactly by "discontinuous"?
2. I just turn the reflections for time and vis off in Bento settings, heh
3. Do you mean: Prefs > Media Library > Library Options tab > Send To Options: Show all playlists on send to menu? If yes, then it displays fine here. What's your DPI settings?
4. Can't reproduce. Which ML scrollbars? All? Every view/pane? Windows OS, graphics card, mouse?

guess it's a bug this: in the prefs window, under cd ripping in the Media Library item, should appear "History", but it's a blank separator...

also the cover art cache in ML has to be fixed...

1) is there a chance to bring back that sidecar with album art to the modern skin playlist? (because it's annoying to have main window, playlist AND Album art window)...please include the album art to playlist...

2) is there a chance to also include album art to modern skin notifyer ?

The only downside of Bento I can think of is that everything is too small. Especially since Winamp Modern, WiMP and iTunes show everything quite big.

Hey... I just tried windowshade mode...
It would be great if the "Classic songticker"-style could be an option there too...

EDIT: Thanks for fixing Album Art, crash problems and thanks for the new skin!

1. Is it possible to update this skin with the new "features"? I know it was made in 2005, so it is 2 years old, but it would be nice though...
Or better, can it be integrated as an Color Theme in the normal Modern skin?

after many big screenshots, a very, very little animation (under 100 KB to attach in the forums)

same problem, with modern and classic skins

using the mouse wheel (either with a fixed scrolling, either with "full page" scrolling in mouse control panel), the knob is static

PS 1: the video requires mp4 video splitter and h264 decoder
PS 2: red circle = left click
