Cool Ray tracer!! Weee!!

OMG, took me about 5 hours, but I finally wrote my first raytracer in AVS! It has a diffuse lit ball, and a background.

What ya'll think of it?

Not bad . I did the same thing a while ago, but it drew the entire picture in one scope (much slower) and had reflections/procedural textures.

Impressive technically, but not a preset I'd watch while listening to music.

Stoke me a clipper. I'll be back for Christmas.

Cool

Where is UnConed's ray tracer scope? I hear great things about it. And as for reflections/procedural textures, that's my next challenge.

thread: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....threadid=76674
file: http://acko.net/dl.php?file=dump/Ray-tracing%20AVS.zip

i will warn you, it's VERY slow
my advice is to run it in the editor window (& with pixeldoubling, for very slow computers)

I agree with whoever it was that said it's very good technically, but of no practical use whatsoever. Sort of like me. (No, not my presets - me.)
