Poets Corner- Improv Night

The theatre was almost full

of emptiness
but I always stay
till the end of the credits.

A closing song can wash over your body
and the moving poem
can be set warmly
in its place.

I turned
to find her soul
six rows behind me,

quietly

I watched as it floated
on her hand.

The night slapped a coldness on my cheek
but I was so happy to find it dark,
I didn't mind.

She had made quickly away-

a sudden left to the cafe.

So I followed
far behind
her silhouette.

The puddles in the road were
bouncing
reflecions
of lights
and the air had a sniffle-

it had just stopped crying.

I sat beside her
six tables away
and noticed that her reflection
was playing with the lights
inside the shallow wells
of the road.

Her red dress
danced with the ripples
but I dared not look over.

Coffee and sweet-cake
were delivered as I had ordered,
my eyes began to hurt
from squinting
into the puddle

so I turned to the window
to sharpen my view...

Through it

I saw her leave away.

Her red outline
becoming
less and less
brilliant

until it vanished.

I looked over
at her reflecting puddle,

there was nothing

but the lamp post.

improv, you say?

i look to my right, i see a mind fight
i look to my left, i see belief cleft
if i was to look up, your light'd consume me
and when i look down, i see what you want of me

Roses... are red,
Violets... are blue.
This structure isn't fresh,
It definitely ain't new.

Lost in focus
Blurry vision is hardly an obstacle
When the light sharpens the thoughts
Circulating in the warm air

There is not a better place than
The near silence
Broken by the buzzing, glowing bulbs

Come on
Come on
What's the use in that?
Nothing but a stoic attitude
And sealed lips

Impatience waits by the doorway
And there's no refusal

Turn off the lights
And go

Neargh.

code:
A short hop, skip,
Bump away at the pinball
Ledge where the chalk rests, ready for
A night out on the town, dressed up to meet
The house of our dreams, where we plan on raising
The dead on the radio... no answer? Why, they are only
A short hop, skip, jump away.

i am left behind
while most everyone advances freely
i enter the darkness warily
not knowing where or when
i shall meet my tall, dark stranger
to whisk me away to some forgotten place
where none exist to tell the tale
of true love.

summer weather froze my bones
and sent me seeking warmth;

stepping slowly
leaving quickly
dying in my own sweet time,
reading slowly
scrawling quickly.

you've left the self you claimed
behind tonight.

In an ocean of blue,
I only see you,
With skin that is silk,
And your face white as milk,
Your love to me,
Will become a fantasy to be.

You must be inspired,
To write a line.
Or you'll just get frustrated,
And waste your time tryin.
You can write about love,
Or the dark of the night.
You can write about nature,
or pehaps a bumfight.
If you can't think,
Of anything at all.
Just watch the trees,
and write of leaves in the fall.
You can write about storms,
with lightning crackin,
Or Beevis and Butthead,
in some guys shed whacking.

If you could see
Inside of me
You'd see the flight
of midnight light
it burns within
which frightful sin
to have crossed the line
which screams within my spine
to change what lurks within
would be my dream!

... that was totaly improvised.. and my first poem!

[(Hamylde)]

I pace, alone. In a place for the dead
Overcome by woe. And here, I've grown
So fond of dread that I swear it's heaven [COF]

I had a band once
it lasted a week

I tried to be other people
but they knew it was me

I waited and waited...
It was useless then-

my band was a week long
the singer stayed with me
and now we move on.

I wonder who that was
Someone called me
Wait...please come back
Call again
I'm sorry I blew your call off like that
Did you need me to give my last breath of life
to keep you breathing
Did you need me to give my life
so that you may keep on living
I wonder who that was that called.

Take a minute to pause and sit by the river,
It's energy and force will make you quiver,
Stop at the waterfall, Take a shower,
Admire it's strength, feel it's power,
This vibe in your soul, is one to savor,
The meaning of this is in your favor,
Most overlook the wonders of nature,
It's full control of everythings future,
So beatiful, So stunning, yet unforgiving,
How long will it let us continue living,
Admire it all, dont take it for granted,
Man was not here when the first seed was planted,

A quiet week was this.
Monady started with team meeting,
where was talk of budget cuts.
Paid bills, told the boss
what I really wanted to do
then installed Hysys 2.4.2.

Tuesday fresh and crisp
Came a presentation and a card
And ended with a religious meeting
Where I snored really hard.

Wednesday bright and early,
A project review we had.
Sadly found I not the place in time
So I missed the you're fired line.

Thursday slowly rolling
I got a call at 2
Guess who...
The dude was wise in years but
seen too many fall.
He told me where I'd be headed
And said all was not forlorn

Friday quietly passing,
On an intranet site I work.
Then gets me an email,
A chick calling me a jerk.

At first I thought it funny
Cause gregarious I am not.
So then why'd she say
I'd called her a sloth?

Late left I the office,
Walking hastily over the grass.
And silently praying.
Hoping her man'd not kick my ass.

Safely I reached the empty flat.
GT parked in the garage
Right now I'd prefer to be offshore
On a rig barge.

So now come I to the forum
And wtf do I see?
Man what a shit week this has been
For a foreigner in Red Neck country.

Next time you people think,
you're at your rope's end
Remember this sorry chap
Whose existence could not be mend.

How ya like dem apples?

I am so important I feel the need to let it be known like a liberal discovering the internets for the first time. Uh hur hur hur. I also wash myself with a rag on a stick.
