Pc Error...
When i run this online game called Continuum, i start a game, and after a few seconds of playing(The time varies) the computer screen goes blank and i get this error on the screen. Its not a BSOD its just a black screen with some white text at the top. I can't read the error because before i can do anything, the pc restarts and doesn't tell me whats going on. I think it says the problem on the error screen, but it disappears too fast. Im sure you have no idea whats going on, i'll keep trying to read the text. I caught the word physical though. Im clueless????

More info: it says Machine check or Machine check Exeption. Something like that. Then after a few seconds the description of the problem pops up, but not more than a split second later it restarts. Is there a log that will have this error in it?

Are you running XP?
If so, MS decided that no one really cares what's on those blue screens and will automatically restart. To get blue screens back: right click my computer > properties > advanced > startup and recovery settings > uncheck "automatically restart" That way you can at least see what is going wrong. If it's a problem with "nv4_disp.dll" or something, update your video card drivers. | |

Im running 2000, but i did what you said anyway and the error still disappears. I got a little more time to read it though, it says that it going to perform a dump of... thats all i got. The screen then got vertical white lines and shut off. so far this is what i have. A Machine Check Exeption, pc going to perform a dump of...
Ideas anyone? "If everything I didn't give a shit about died, the only thing that would be left would be me, my dick, and maybe some pizza!" -Two (Visit www.ranting-gryphon.com, it rocks.) |

BUMP?! What is this bumping. Just wondering have you gone to the publishers or developers web site, and checked their faq's or message boards?

Well your post is now obsolete, i just got this same error running internet explorer, so its not isolated to just the game. (But you are right)
So maybe this problem has something to do with my internet connection? I have Broadband Cable internet. I've never gotten this error before.

http://search.support.microsoft.com/...false&numDays= Pentium processor? Looks like imminent hardware failure, possibly memory, or vid card . . . though don't count out the possibility of it being bad drivers or some dodgy concurrently running software to blame. Contact the pc vendor / manufacturer. |
