Getting Listeners to Connect
Hey,
I'm trying to get my listeners to connect to my server, but i'm having some diffuclty doing this. I have the shoutcast dnas server going as well as the dsp plug-in. I know that the station is broadcasting because it all connects. I used the radio toolbox to check that my connection is going and it is. I just can't get people to connect to it! I used this code to link it: Click Here to Listen and that isn't working for some reason (i didn't add a space b4 and after the : though. I just didn't want the to show up!). Can you help? Thanks |

I figured it out!
Ok i finally figured it out. It was because i'm on a router and i didn't open the port for the program. I now have done that and it works. The only thing is i have to use the link listed on the shoutcast website rather then my ipaddress:8000/listen.pls but i don't think that's a problem.

If you want help, post the exact link(s) you tried.
Or, post your station name and I'll search the SHOUTcast yp (yellow pages) for your station and build the links for you. |

The link
192.168.2.20:8000/listen.pls --> Now what i found out was this was my computers privite IP address and not the public one. That's why that didn't work. It only seams that if i use this link http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutc...e=filename.pls it works. The only thing i'm afraid of though is that using the shoutcast link will make my stream run slower rather then it directly comming from my computer.
