Internet Radio Station - Need a little help from our online pals!
Hello everyone.
Very soon we are hoping to launch our own internet commercial radio station. Now this station has been planned and constructed since JUNE 2001!!!!!!! We are now ready to launch in March 2003! The trouble is i've left all the important things until last! I have a few Q's, if anyone can help please reply! 1) If I have a 1 mbps broadband connection I can run my own server, and broadcast at 128kbps? 2) The computer that will be producing the music (ie: Otsjuke), the program similar to Winamp, it will be running on a computer network. Trouble is the computer that is broadcasting, is a guest on the network. Can I set the DNA's server on the Host, broadcast from the guest to the host then to the net? 3) Do we have to pay for a commercial license on Shoutcast? I've heard before we do, but can't seem to find any info now! 4) Do we have to pay loyalty fee's? Can't find any info on that either! 5) Also, whats the MAXIMUM MAXIMUM MAXIMUM amount of listeners we could have??? We've got plenty of bandwdith, plenty of RAM, plenty of HDD space, plenty of processor power!!! Any help with any of the above questions would be great, even if its just guidance. We have tried to contact Shoutcast direct, but no links, no email links, no telephone numbers!! Its a bit shambolic really isn't it! But thats life! So thanks to anyone who can help! We hope you will all tune in as soon as the station is up and running! Take Care for Now everybody! Danny |
