Port Fowarding
I have seen similar threads of people with this problem, but mine is different.
First off I am attempting to make my own server on a computer running Windows ME, with a network, and ZONEALARM firewall, if this is not possible tell me so I don't work endlessly. I can listen to my own station inside my network, but not from outside I get the standard error: <01/24/03@21:04:39> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak) <01/24/03@21:04:41> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: **.***.**.***:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out)) I tried to foward ports 8000 and 8001 to the DNAS, but apparently it's not possible in ZONEALARM (do I need to upgrade to the pro version to do this?) After that I turned off the firewall and the network, but it still cannot see my station. So I looked around for another way to foward the ports and I can't find anything. Would it just be better for me to switch to windows 2000? Thankyou |

Check out the Sticky post titled:
SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: Routers, Firewalls, and Networks. Oh My! -> Software -> ZoneAlarm See other sections as necessasy. [edit] I took a quick scan at the linked site from above and could't locate the directions to do port opening. Hopefully your searching will be better. I did notice a forum, such as this one, where you can post your port opening question if necessary. [/edit] |

I figured it out, but it had nothing to do with the firewall
Since I have a network I had to change the port from 8000 to 1022 |
