Saving Port Fowarding Settings
I have a major problem... Everytime my dad resets the router because his computer doesnt work, I lose my port fowarding settings on my Linksys router. (I think hes using VPN for work :X) Is there any way where i can tell my router to keep the settings even though he is holding down the button to reset it??? Any help would be great.

your dad is using a VPN for work?
Does he disconnect from the VPN when he is done with work? Make sure he does. Also why not set up another user account on your pc. Set 1 for your dads work and one for you. This way your preferences and settings wont be changed or anything, Also A vpn shouldnt mess up your router settings. You can set your pc to have a static IP so that you wont have to change the config file in shoutast.. |

1.
Resetting the router does just that... Resets the router to factory default values (or flash rom settings). I'm not sure if any router has provisions for saving the forwarding section. Check your router documentation or ask the vendor/maker. Your Dad shouldn't have to reset the router, though. 2. HTML is disabled in these forums. Use bbcode instead. |
