Skipping problems?
Hello. Im using Winamp Radio scheduler to play my jingles over Shoutcast. I have a computer SAN (storage area network) with about 16 gigs of mp3s and its running my shoutcast server. And as you can tell Im having some problems. Just about every song, or every other song it kinda skips... Before i had that add on in, it did NOT do it. Im tuning in right now and after the jingle it plays the 3-4 secs of it.. then it kinda sounds like a small lag... I dont know if its me or the computer. I heard some theories on it loading too many playlists.. and jacking up.. But i dont know.. ANy help would be great.

Tay first of all. When you say you have 16 gigs of music stored on a SAN (or whatever), are these devices like jaz drives? zip drives? etc.. these devices will "spin down" and so when winamp goes for the next song it cant acces it until the device has is ready again.. Try running some songs from your loal pc, if it works see about setting your pc's / and devices power settings so that the disks dont spin down.

Well this program Im using jacks arround with the playlist. It plays my primary playlist and then it loads my jingles... I think it might be lagging due to switching playlists.. Also, I have a Internal IDE 30 GIG 7200 RPM. Also, the jingles that I am playing are WAV files not MP3. So would that have anything to do with it? :|
