Keeps cutting out
Hi guys!
This has probably been asked before but here goes. I have Winamp 2.81 and SHOUTcast broadcasting thing. When I broadcast some songs they cut out with approximately 10 seconds to spare. The Crossfading thing that came with SHOUTcast or whatever and I tried to install it but not sure whether it was successful or not. Is there any way of removing it from the output plug ins thing or to stop the tracks from cutting out at the end? Many thanks! Timewell |

Doubly wrong forum
![]() Try this: With Winamp the active application: Ctrl+p -> Plug-ins -> Output -> Select something else [Moved: WA3TS > SCTS --Sawg] |

What do you mean by select something else? Just click on another plug in?

I still don't understand what you mean by selecting it. I have played a couple of tracks and it seems they still fade out/cut out. Isn't there any way of removing Crossfading?

Whichever Output plugin is hi-lighted is the active one.
DirectSound Output includes the built-in crossfader So either choose the other Output plugin used for normal playback, ie. WaveOut or choose Null Output to hear absolutely nothing (this doesn't effect the Shoutcast DSP which will still be broadcasting) |

I cannot figure out how to stop cross-fading either...and I cannot figure it out by reading the suggestions in the forum. I have unselected Direct Sound Output, which doesn't make a difference.. Also, do I have to close and reopen Winamp for it to take effect?

DirectSound output should not cause a crossfade. But to answer your question the Output plugin will take effect at the start of the next song.

Now it is cutting out again.
I'm not sure but I think it could be because my Bitrate is set too high. I am Broadcasting now, Radio Timewell, can you tell me whether it does cut out or not? It works when I listened to it. But still not sure...thanks!

It is still cutting out. I deinstalled Winamp, re-installed it with custom option instead of typical, and unchecked crossfade, and it's still crossfading. The string of steps in an earlier post don't make sense with the control options that I have. After "Tom's" reply, I tried to conform to that, then just kept trying different "output" options but the more option changes I tried, the sooner it started cutting out. Any other suggestions?
Thanks! |

bbruha,
Are you a listener or broadcaster? What version of Winamp are you using? Timewell, Your station was not up when I checked. Tom |
