Any Port?
Hey,
Couple of questions for you all: (1) Can the DNAS run on any port? For example, can I run it on port 25? (2) I must open TWO ports through my firewall, right? (8000 and 8001, by default) Can I get the DNAS to use two NON-consecutive ports, ie, specify the incoming and outgoing ports? thanks, rg. |

1.
The DNAS can run on any free port(s) (portBase and portBase+1). 2. Yes. portBase and portBase+1. The ports must be consecutive. |

There's no way to specify two non-consecutive ports? Changing the script?

You might be able to hex edit the DNAS executable and change the increment.
Just make sure to back stuff up first

Thanks, rg. |

you might want to block port 25, as it is usually used for telnet.. Blocking it is a very wise idea...

I would not hack the server to be non consecutive, you will definately break the source plugin's ability to fully service your server. IE things like title streaming.
