Help with my shoutcast
Hey everyone. I am new here (the status tell is it all)
I have some problems with my first shoutcast attempt. I get the following event log when I do open the nullsoft shoutcast server: Event log: <02/24/03@22:00:33> [SHOUTcast] DNAS/win32 v1.9.2 (Nov 25 2002) starting up... <02/24/03@22:00:33> [main] loaded config from C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast\sc_serv.ini <02/24/03@22:00:33> [main] initializing (usermax:5 portbase:8000)... <02/24/03@22:00:33> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban) <02/24/03@22:00:33> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip) <02/24/03@22:00:33> [main] opening source socket <02/24/03@22:00:33> [main] error opening source socket! FATAL ERROR! Some other process is using this port! Anybody got any idea? I thought I had most of the config correct since I followed the guidelines given here. Can anyone help?

Set SrcIP back to ANY. If that is not the cause then there is something already using port 8001 on your system.

I got the problem of the port resolved but now, it still won't connect. Any idea why?

It tries for a bit and then disconnects. Ideas? |

Are you connecting a source to the DNAS?
Also, machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. |

Got it working! Thanks people. I'm starting as a local radio for friends. If I can get a good bandwidth from my ISP, I'll post it here! For sure!
