Broadcasting streaming audio from website

I would like to broadcast streaming audio directly from my website. I don't want to go through www.shoutcast.com Is there any Winamp software to do this or do I have to use Windows media player or real

Why don't you want to use shoutcast? It is the best one IMO because many stations use it and many people will have access to it.

I'm pretty sure you can use links with ShoutCAST to send people to your station. Not sure since I haven't had much experience with it, though.

This would be better served in one of the SHOUTcast forums

DNAS link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport/listen.pls

Replace yourDNASip with the ip of the DNAS (SHOUTcast server) and yourDNASport with the DNAS port (default is 8000)

Also, machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.
Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.

See RFC1918 for more information. Scroll down and look for the section titled: 3. Private Address Space

How to find your ip address (Part I).
How to find your ip address (Part II).

Finally, you can get a static name, such as foo.bar.com (not as cool as that, though ) from http://www.no-ip.com or one of the other myriad of Dynamic DNS Services.
Then, your links would be:
DNAS link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport/listen.pls

[edit]
Once your DNAS (SHOUTcast server) is up, use FreedomAudio to embed your stream.
[/edit]

Once you get your DNAS up and running, you have sevaral links at your disposal.

For simplicity, let's assume:
1. Your ip is 123.345.567.789
2. You're running your DNAS (SHOUTcast server) on the default portBase (which is 8000)
3. You have no DNAS errors.

A link to your DNAS page would be http://123.345.567.789:8000
A link to directly open your stream would be http://123.345.567.789:8000/listen.pls

Use your favorite editor to include these urls in http href tags or other window opening procedures.

Remember, though, to understand and keep in mind your network configuration. That is (again), machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.
Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.

If you run into problems, come see us in the SHOUTcast forums.
