Winamp locking up during broadcast
Hello I have been checking out these forums the last couple of days now.
I have winamp setup and I can broadcast great. But after a while for no reason everyone will tell me that I'm not broadcasting any more. I can still hear wimamp playing. If I click on the talk button my volume changes and everything. If I check the Shoutcast admin it says im still connected. but I'm no longer sending data. If i try and reconnect is will send a little bit of data and then will not do anything. SO what I do is to try and close winamp but it will not close. I have to go into task manager and close it. I have to click on it twice to get it ti finaly close. I get no error codes or any thing. So then I can restart Winamp and connect and it works fine again until it does the same thing. It is very wierld cause it is very random. I have gone 2 hours and no crash and i can go 10 minutes and no crash. I have tried the 1.8.0 and the 1.8.2 dsp. I use winamp 2.81 Computer Spec: 1.6 P4 512 DDR 60 gig WD harddrive Soundblaster Audigy Gamer I have checked the soundblaster thread in the winamp forums but none of the fixes helped me. Thank for you time Kevin |

hmm this may help. I'm using 1.8.0 dsp right now and i am saving the broadcast. Well every broadcast that I have wimamp freeze up on me are the exact same size. They are 2743kb a piece. THere are 7 of them. Since I crashed 7 time that would be right. But everyone of them just stop when winamp freezes. And I guess I'll add I know it isn't the server i'm connecting to. Cause I'm the only one having this problem and I connected to a different server last night and the same think happened.
I would really love any attempt to help me. thanks Kevin P.S. I just tried it again with the same song repeating. after a while it froze up again. I had to shutdown winamp through taskamanager. the file is this sc_02-25-2003_00-27-12 2,743kb Winamp media file 2/24/03 4:42pm Last edited by Kevinbond; 25th February 2003 at 21:59. |

Sorry Sed is my gameing name.
Also tonight I tried connecting to the server with shoutcast and then running all the music through media player. I still have not crashed and everything is running good. I just do not like media player. So after I was finished I reconnected and played one song with winamp and then I crashed right after the song was over. It is so wierd. I have tried all the fixes i have found in these forums. THanks for any help you can give me. P.S. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall and not go. Kevin Never mind i guess I was not going long enough cause i just froze up again. and I didn't use winamp at all execpt to connect to the server. And guess what the save file is the same as above sc_02-25-2003_09-23-40 2,743kb winamp media file 2/25/03 1:39 am |
