<02/25/03@15:53:54> [main] loaded config from C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast\sc_serv.ini
<02/25/03@15:53:54> [main] initializing (usermax:50 portbase:8000)...
<02/25/03@15:53:54> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban)
<02/25/03@15:53:54> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip)
<02/25/03@15:53:54> [main] opening source socket
<02/25/03@15:53:54> [main] error opening source socket! FATAL ERROR! Some other process is using this port

which ever port i use it says the same thing, i phoned netgear (who make the router) and they told me to direct the ports on the router to my ip, which i have done but still no

Set SrcIp back to ANY. Out of curiosity why did you change this? Many people have been doing this lately and it is usually not needed and I'm just trying to figure out why so I can stop people from doing it.

heres a bit more info that might be usfull, my IP address on the network is 192.168.0.4 the computer with the router is 192.168.0.1 (of course) here how the port forward looks on the router setup:

# Service Name Start Port End Port Server IP Address
1 shoutcast 8000 8001 192.168.0.4

Tom, I think it's because of the wording in the comment part of SrcIP and DestIP.

I don't have my DNAS ini file handy to state for certain, but the configuration details at the DNAS download are:
Quote:
SrcIP: The IP interface to bind the source listener to. Only important on machines with more than one IP interface or ethernet card. Default is to listen to all ip addresses, when set to ANY.
DestIP: The IP interface to listen for clients on. Only important on machines with more than one IP interface or ethernet card. Default is to listen to all ip addresses, when set to ANY.
Since many of these folks are on a router and have two ips, lan and real, world-visible, they feel it necessary to change the default any value.

This is just an assumption.

Maybe we can get someone that changed the default any value to provide insight.
