have to specify port number?
Hey, I'm broadcsting from kanezfan.dyndns.org and it works fine, I can connect to it from work, but only when I specify port 8000 in the address. if i try to connect without specifying the port number i get an error. is this normal?

yeah, your address will take the form: http://kanezfan.dyndns.org:8000/listen.pls (if your portBase=8000)

If you don't specify a port number in yoru stream url, a port number of 80 is implied.
Example: http://www.festerhead.com = http://www.festerhead.com:80 80 is the default web server port number. You can, of course change that to your liking. You also can call a spoon a fork and a fork a spoon. Your ability to communicate your services with others, though, may be diminished. |

Fester: So does that mean port 80 is open in most firewalls (to allow web serving)?

If you have a router, then its not usually open by deafault unless u forward it to the pc with a server on that port. Also, some isps block port 80 (mine does), To force customers to get business level service for running a server.
