pre-recorder "live"

Hello all,

I'm trying to set up Shoutcast to serve static pre-recorded files like it would do for live streaming : I upload the pre-recorded shows via FTP and the server streams them continuously and synchronously between listeners.

I am not happy with the Stream-on-demand function because it resets the file to the beginning everytime someone requests it, so when a listener disconnects and reconnects, he's presented with the beginning of the show again.

The problem is that I have a 33.6 connection, and I'm not sure I could stream efficiently with this type of uplink

I heard about IRPd and Streamcast, should I use one of thses tools ?

I have access to a dedicated server, but I don't want the system to be a too big mess...

Thanks !
