I need help again *sobs bitterly*

ok I was using it fine then for some reason the only port I can connect on is the first one ie. 8000 and only I can connect to listen to music on that port, 8001 just doesn't work for anything the only port that does anything is 8000 and it shouldnt' be. The text that it prints out shows that it is waiting for sources on 8001 but I can only connect to it on 8000. i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the host and everything i'm at my wits end (again)

portBase (default is 8000) is for listening and the web tool.

portBase+1 is for the Winamp/DSP combo (or other source) to connect.
The only time you have to deal with portBase+1 is if you host the DNAS and need to open and forward portBase+1 to the DNAS machine.

Everything else is done via portBase

Example:
DNAS link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport/listen.pls

If yourDNASip = 123.345.567.789 and yourDNASport = 8000 (the default portBase is 8000), then the linsk would be:
DNAS link: http://123.345.567.789:8000
Listen link: http://123.345.567.789:8000/listen.pls

I am both my source and the server so I do need both ports open right? This was also working fine about an hour and a half ago and it just crapped out.

You only need to open and forward portBase.

What error(s) are you getting in your DNAS log?

Before I was able to have the server running in one window and winamp running and connecting on port 8001 to the server because the source and server are on the same computer. Now however winamp will only connect to serve on port 8000 when it should be connecting on 8001 it is simply denied on 8001 even though the server says that it is waiting for a source on 8001. I can listen and connect on 8000 but it is only I that can do it by using my internal ip. Something has gone wrong.

The portbase is completely open. I don't get any errors either it the source just connects on 8000 like that is a normal thing.

awwwww no one can help *sniff* I don't get this, i have all the ports fowarded and I reinstalled winamp I reinstalled the server I reinstalled the source, I don't understand this

Where are you using 8001?

The DNAS port to be used for everything and everywhere is portBase. The default portBase is 8000.

If your portBase is 8000, then use 8000 for everything and everywhere.
