Question about these log entries...
Hi,
I have my server running great, but for some reason I am getting log entries like these every day... <03/09/03@11:41:04> [dest: 68.161.152.*] Invalid resource request(/content/Puddle%20of%20Mudd%20-%20Drift%20And%20Die.pls) <03/09/03@11:48:53> [dest: 68.161.152.*] Invalid resource request(/content/Puddle%20of%20Mudd%20-%20Drift%20And%20Die.pls) <03/09/03@11:50:14> [dest: 68.161.152.*] Invalid resource request(/content/Puddle%20of%20Mudd%20-%20Drift%20And%20Die.pls) <03/09/03@11:58:49> [file: 192.168.1.1] E:\MP3s\48Kbit\Puddle of Mudd - Drift And Die.mp3 <03/09/03@11:59:01> [file: 65.58.120.*] E:\MP3s\48Kbit\Dixie Chicks - Sin Wagon.mp3 As you can see, the first person cannot load the song but I tried right after them and it plays successfully. the third ip is someone just after I tried, that I included because it shows the server is working outside my LAN. I would justl ike to know why this error shows up mainly from 3-4 ip's...is it a hack attempt/uncommon browser/something else? Thanks for any thoughts. Test it at http://bnkrazy.com Chris |

no they are trying to use a browser to get to the mp3 file, using a PLS link or pls url to the file to launch winamp. The problem is that IE (which is probably what they are using) converts spaces to %20 and basically url encodes the address, shoutcast does not have anyway to url decode these values back to their orginal characters. To solve the problem you are going to have to remove any special characters in the file names of the mp3 and remove the spaces or you will have to create your own pls files on some server somewhere else and have them point to the proper file rather then letting shoutcast handle that for you.
