firewalls and proxies!!! ???
I started to search some info about putting a SHOUTcast server online from behind a firewall-proxy, read all the FAQ's and pages and manuals that people have referred to...
BUT still I get the same NAK-message... ![]() I even asked a few of my friends, who have hosted succesfuly a SHOUTcast server and a stream from their own PCs... they couldn't help me either... ![]() I have WinXP, T1-connection and I've gone through all the settings and configurations dozens of times. I don't have any misconfigured firewall-softwares running. (I tried also with them disabled) Is there ANY possibility for me to run a SC-server, despite of the firewall-proxy between this local area network and the internet?? |

The network I'm in is actually a medium area network, and the firewalls aren't in my control. I've tried most of the common port numbers (8000, 8800, 8080, 8800) that SHOULD work through the firewalls...
The firewalls in question are functioning as follows (from here to internet): 1: cache-proxy and firewall 2: "bumper"-firewall (2 of them, parallel) This is the more than common errormessage that I also get... [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 157.24.101.139:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out)) should I use the alternate port (666) for yp?? (in the SHOUTcast config-file, there read that it doesn't work (???)) |
