That's not Winamp's fault...AOL needs to fix that (Winamp, Spinner, and AOL music are all part of the same division of AOL). But rest assured, the mail you sent does eventually go to a real live person, despite the error you recieved. I tested this two or three weeks ago, got the same error, and eventually got a response from a human being at Winamp. It took about a week for the real repsonse to come.

Play what file?

If you want help you need to be more specific than that.

And which version of Winamp, if its 3, then well I'm not going to laugh and point, it is fairly shity at times.

if its 2, then its probably somthing as simple as the file asociations. So I will LOL and point.

Post your specifics in the Shoutcast Technical Support forum. You'll get better help, faster there than through email. You may even be able to work it out for yourself. The technical support employees for Winamp have several other jobs, and Winamp is distributed to thousands and thousands of people, so it's physically impossible for them to to answer all email immediately.

When you post, be sure to provide complete details:
Your system specs (sound card, video card, OS, memory, network connection, etc.).
Your Winamp and Shoutcast versions.
Your specific problem, with specific error messages if you are getting any.
Any steps you may have taken already to resolve the problem.
Anything else useful you could think to provide.

Well it amazes me when people write negative stuff suddenly there are a lot of people responding to it !
Why not respond to the simple question i had ?
Instead of askin me what version what this and that,if people take the time to read it i wouldnt be busy typing all this bullshit twice.
Here is copy of the question >
-------------------------------------------------------------------
So is there an expert available who can tell me whats goin on !
tried it yesterday with member ANGST and for him it plays !
Called a friend and he tried it and it plays !
With the winamp 3 version it says connecting in the window and just drops dead and shows mix.mp3 and thats it..., so i thought lets try winamp 2.8 but that gave the same shit result..it wont play.
Only different part from that version is that it shows in the window "timed out"
What timed out ? im the only one trying to connect !
And why does it says (when you go to the admin page:http://IP:8000)
Server Status: Server is currently down !
How is that possible when its ON and a friend just listened to a mix ?

Well, the simple answer is you are doing something WRONG. I'm sorry, but that's the answer. To track down what it is you are doing, we'll need more info. You didn't provide any of the facts I requested, so there is very little more I could tell you about your specific situation.

This forum is general discussion. The average member in here could care less about a technical support problem. The shoutcast technical support forum is the appropriate place to ask, and since you already have a thread (or three) in there, this one is now closed. Refer to your original thread(http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....hreadid=127859) and be patient waiting for a reply, we're not paid for this and only do it because we want to.

In addition to the information requested above, your shoutcast IP would be helpful in determining if it is your client or server at fault.

[EDIT]THE SUPPORT ADDRESS SHOULD BE FIXED SOON, ADMIN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM![/EDIT]
