The DNAS needs a source somehow. Whether its on-demand or live content.

If you go with on-demand content, somebody (or something such as a crafty script) needs to click a link to hear some tunes.

If you go with live content, somebody needs to have a Winamp/DSP combo (or equivalent source) sending mp3 data to the DNAS.

FYI: Live365 has a mode where you can upload mp3s to their server(s) and your station gets sourced from there. The SHOUTcast DNAS isn't built for this type of streaming.

You don't have to be at the computer to stream 24/7. Load mp3s in Winamp, connect to your DNAS, press repeat, press shuffle, enjoy.

For your no-ip issue, I'll let someone else take over that has experience with that service.

R: TANSTAAFL, sorry.

Q: you was talking about a 'crafty script' any ideas where i can get that from
A: I don't know of any that auto-source the DNAS. You'll have to craft the crafty script.

If your computer is off, then you can't source the DNAS.

BTW, where is the DNAS? Is it on the machine you want to turn off or is it hosted by a third party?

If you turn the computer off, then other folks won't be able to broadcast on your server.

Q: Is there any other online radio's other than live 365,shoutcast n the yahoo one.
A: Yes. Google can help you search.
