Winamp 2.91 refuses to use some skins' numbers.bmp and playpaus.bmp

Actually, this problem has begun since some versions before 2.91.
For some reason, Winamp refuses to use the numbers.bmp and playpaus.bmp files in some skins, and instead uses the default green digits and play/pause indicators. Those skins worked perfectly in older versions of Winamp 2. One such example is the YF-19 skin by David "Hawk" (skin details here). In this skin, the digits and play/pause indicators are supposed to be blue. However, the latest versions (from 2.8x onwards, I believe) refuse to use the numbers.bmp and playpaus.bmp files in that skin.

Can somebody help me fix this?

Then I'm guessing it has something to do with the color depth or RLE compression. I'll check the base skin and see if there's a difference.

I just re-saved the files in Photoshop without RLE compression, same color depth/color coding/bits per channel. The skin works fine now. So I guess Winamp 2.8x+ doesn't support RLE compressed bitmaps anymore, for some reason.

it does support rle compression because that is handled by windows internally
