LOL this amazes me......

Ok i have been going through shoutcast.com directory and answering almost everyones problems for the past two days

ok fair enough people have problems. But now i know what some mods get pissed off when people done search through the boards.

The same errors are posted over and over again, like 10 times a day, i dont get it

usually all they would have to do is look on the first page of shoutcast technical support and they will see their error already listed like 5 times.

its just amazing how people, as soon as they have a problem, just post away, without the thought of searching the forums even crossing their mind.

just my thoguths, will continue to help people tho

speaking of something they should do for us guys is at least lower the posting limit from 60 (1 min) to 30 (1/2 min) this would pretty much help us guys here that really work hard and fast to get the peoples problems fixed!

sometime u can type a post fast then 60 secs after typing a pervious message

then u get an error.

and if u click back, you loose you post contents which is a bit of a bummer lol.

ahhh well, never mind :P

Indeed, learn to copy the quick reply contents before submitting.

Or, if you create (or use my) bots, then all that's required is cut-n-paste.

Just wait until you get flamed for providing support.

hehe I win! I love beating you to the questions!

but I tell you what matt2kjones; please come in behind me just to check and to give your opinion. Also a thing I'm starting to do, is go through ever post in technical support to help people more that way, and to uncover old problems.

Yes, it is very frustrating at times.
We have added the "Please use the search feature ..." to the new topic template and of course placed stickies at the top of the forums but this still isn't sufficient. Anymore ideas on how to direct people to perviously answered questions?

Tom

[edit]You think a searchable knowledge base would be useful?[/edit]

FesterBot's are cut-n-pastables. Take a look.

Tom, I don't think any more effort into archiving previous questions/answers is necessary. It'll be another thing for us to point to.

Although I may be terse at times, I try to be polite.

hey tom I think a knoledge base would be wonderful, but than again people here are wanting quick fixes from people! Is there any type of program where peeps can send e-mail then get an automated response??

Also I just think that the kb would be ignored! Sad to say that though! But it would, its the same with the greatest hits cat. People are told to look there but don't! And to use a search which they don't. Only way this would work is unless there was a posting time (like a week or two) for new members where they are forced to search in the forums to find the awnswer then they are able to post! I don't know voice your opinions!
