Segmentation fault FOUND!

Hi, if you try to start shoutcast on a read-only filesystem, it'll crash:

It has to do with the log files it is trying to write to. Disable the logs in sc_serv.conf and see if it still seg faults.

yea this has been posted a few times.

the DNAS does do a segmentation fault if it cant write to its logs.

this means it will do it if u run shoutcast as a user that doesn't have write permission to the log files, OR, the file system is read only

just disable logging and wolla

You are funny guys
If the filesystem is READ ONLY - you CANT CHANGE THE CONFIG FILE!! )
That was my problem! I set up shoutcast (with rw permissions) and logfiles were ON! Then, the OS did set the filesystem to READ-ONLY - that means, no more logfiles!
But I ALSO can't change the config-file. However, I was wondering a lot, because I learn @ study to handle these errors directly...
(what I don't learn is to write correct english )

Oh, before I forget:
Listen to www.radio-network.de/listen.pls !

i havent had seg faults when log file permissions don't allow writing. it simply doesnt log, but works perfectly otherwise. looks like your problem is not the DNAS is is your dying server =)
