winamp in ie
ok i appologise if this has been asked before but i have done a search and couldnot find a relevant answer.
i am putting a link on a web site to my broadcast. when u click on the link u r asked to save, open the pls file etc. what i would like to happen is when u clik on the link it automatically open a player and sterts to play. i am not sure on how to do this for eg say the listner doesnot have winamp to play the pls file. regards tyke 2k |

well by default the stream will play in a player which is capable of playing the stream.
i.e players include: winamp xmms realone music match etc if winamp is installed, and it still asks you to save it then the file assochiates are probably screwed. |

ok thanks and i do understand your point but just some follow up points if poss?
1 does your answer mean that there is no way of avoiding the file open/save as approach 2 is there no way of initiating a plug in for ie to play the stream if there is how is this achieved 3 if the answer to 2 is no should i provide links to download the relevent player eg winamp and then they are able to listen regards tyke |
